Massive 3 LB Vegan Vietnamese Noodle Challenge Turns Up In Vancouver
After a week of rare sunshine, the Vancouver rain is back in full force. With the torrential rain sticking around for another week (as expected of Raincouver), a big hearty bowl of hot noodles to warm you up sounds like the perfect daily fantasy.
Last year, Dundas Eat and Drink introduced the Six O Pho Challenge – a massive 5 lb bowl of steaming meat, noodles and broth that needed to be finished in 30 minutes – which swept the city. They are back again to test Vancouverites with another gargantuan bowl of noodles for a challenge.
The Bun Bo Hue Challenge is the vegan version of last year’s food challenge that comprises of tofu, thinly sliced imitation meat, noodles and sour, mildly spicy broth. Those who are willing to step up to the plate have 20 minutes to completely finish the 3 lb bowl (including soup).

Each challenger will receive an automatic consolation prize that includes Dundas Eat swag like branded scarves, tumblers, t-shirts, and more.
The 5 individuals who finish the 3 lb bowl the fastest will each receive a $100 gift card to Dundas and be entered into a final round, where they’ll be fighting for $500 worth of prizes and gift cards (to Dundas, local brewers, and other businesses).
The Bun Bo Hue Challenge will be going on until the end of December and is $25.
Do you think you’re up for the challenge?
