Can you believe it is already August?

It felt like Vancouver just got its summer groove on and we’re already with only a few weeks left of this sunshine.

With summer coming to a close soon…you’ve got to make these last few weeks worth it – right? Time to turn up your summer outings on overdrive.

1. National Watermelon Day

2. Gastown Pride Party @ Tacofino’s Taco Bar

Put your Vancouver Pride Week festivities up another notch at Gastown Tacofino’s Pride Party! Expect live music by DJ Gissala, drag performances, Happy Hour food specials, and Pride Themed RoSlay Sangria.

3. Powell Street Festival


The largest Japanese Canadian festival is back!  Immerse yourself in Japanese culture by watching a variety of traditional and contemporary performances like taiko drumming, sumo wrestling, martial arts, folk and modern dance and tea ceremonies.  And of course, there will be a bunch Japanese food stalls for you to enjoy.

4. Food Day of Canada

Restaurants across the Canada will be creating special dishes and menus for Food Day Canada. Chef Ian McHale, of Wildebeest, will be offering a Sole Food Farms Salad for $16, which features mixed greens from Sole Food Street Farms (an urban agricultural project), heirloom radish, Hives for Humanity dressing and spiced maple granola.

5. Saturday Morning Cereal Pop Up

7. “When Poultry Meets Wine” Pop-up Dinner by Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry

8. Fair at the PNE 2018

9. The Return of Railtown’s Tailgate Barbecues!

After a two-year hiatus, Railtown Cafe’s al-fresco-style Tailgate Barbecue events is back! Soak up the sun and indulge in a southern barbecue-styled feast from a custom-built, 12-foot barbecue barrel and serve up slow-smoked brisket, pork shoulder, beer-brined chicken and sausages along with a selection of made-from-scratch sides.

12: Richmond Night Market

The Richmond Night Market is a great weekend activity to give you and your friends an excuse to spend a night hovering around the array of street food stalls and Korean sock stands. Each year, the Night Market attracts over 1 Million visitors, making it one of B.C.’s most popular summer attraction.

This year the Richmond Night Market has also transformed itself into a Hawaiian and seafood heaven by erecting Palm Trees and a special stall that offers Lobster, King Crab, and more.

And of course, the food at the Night Market is always the highlight. Check out our favourite new and old items to get.
