Noms Magazine is looking for creative and ambitious individuals to join us as contributors for our website and online magazine. You will be a key player in creating articles and stories that are compelling, concise, and relevant about Vancouver’s food and lifestyle scene.
Articles may be on:
New restaurant launches
Listicles of the best cheap eats, etc
101 Guides to particular dishes
Stories that are shareable and resonates with our readers
Note: This is mainly a remote position and is unpaid. A freelance contract may be considered after 2 months (or 4 articles) of being a contributor.
Write a minimum of 2 articles per month.
Investigate and report news and food and lifestyle stories around the Vancouver.
Ensure articles follow company guidelines.
Conduct necessary research required to produce quality factual content, which may include interviews, a trip to the library or attending events.
Capture high quality photos or videos to compliment your article.
Pitch appropriate story ideas that are engaging and relevant to our hungry audience.
Able to accept feedback to make necessary improvements or adjustments.
Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, PR/marketing reps, chefs, and local influencers.
High level writing skill, accuracy, organization, and creativity while maintaining close attention to detail.
High level of professionalism and etiquette.
A love for food and the Vancouver food scene.
Ability to think outside of the box.
Photography and videography skills an asset.
Knowledge in SEO is an asset.
A degree in journalism/communications or currently enrolled in a relevant faculty is an asset
